I was asked to understudy the role of Dvorah Laskier, Rutka Laskier’s mother in this new indie rock musical which has hopes for Broadway. I was so grateful to just be in the room with so much heart and talent. It is an important story, one of many that need to be told in this day and age. And it was extra special, being the first time I was contracted at our prestigious TONY AWARD WINNING (!) Playhouse.
Bonus, my HIGH SCHOOL friend, Ben Cherry has been originating the role of Yitszak Laskier since the beginning, so I was able to have some much needed “ol buddy” time while he stayed in town.
